We have now entered Phase 3 of the provincial regulations. Listening to a wide range of voices in our congregation we know that households have differing considerations regarding their personal level of risk. As your church we want to support you in being considerate of your health and that of your neighbor's as we negotiate the new normal for this next phase of the pandemic. We also don't want to be second guessing the guidelines of the province and creating confusion for our guests. We will open up and add social practices as they make sense.
Effective July 2nd:
- Cleaning throughout the church will continue.
- Church seating will not be restricted. Those in attendance may sit together if they choose. Those members and guests who still wish to sit socially distanced may do so and that is 100% ok. You can indicate your space by removing chairs on either side of you (and your family) and stacking them at the back of the church. Until attendance merits more chairs, we will continue to allow lots of space between the rows.
- Individuals will not be required to wear a mask in the building. If members choose to continue to wear a mask, then that is 100% okay.
- Capacities in the sanctuary and foyer will return to pre-pandemic status.
- For now, we will continue with gluten free crackers and individual cups for communion, with the offering plate left stationary at the doors of the sanctuary.
- Please be mindful of each other's comfort levels as we all transition.
- Masks and sanitizing stations will still be available.
- For those who prefer to attend virtually, zooming in to the service will remain an excellent way to participate.
- As more regular attendance becomes apparent, we will begin to set up worship tasks, ushers, hospitality (coffee/treats) and counter schedules. For now we will continue to keep our services simple and rely on volunteers, Sunday to Sunday.
- Daily health checklists and staying home if not feeling well will still be a part of our expectations. If required to quarantine, then you must stay home.
A mid-week Wednesday communion service will be offered on Wednesday July 7th, 10:30am for those who wish to attend a smaller worship gathering with masks and social distancing in place for all participants. We hope that with the coming weeks we will watch the pandemic recede and we will all gain confidence in resuming our most cherished activities. Having been surprised many times, we will proceed carefully and adopt best practices that promote wellbeing in our community and the furthering of our call as followers of Christ.
